Updated: Oct 24

On Sunday, October 19, the International District Choice team hosted a booth at the ABQ CiQlovía along Kathryn Avenue between San Pedro and Louisiana Avenue, for the second year in a row. This is an annual event that unites community organizations, bike advocates, public health professionals, city planners, and community members in a vibrant celebration.

The engagement station showcased the International District Choice Neighborhoods project, as well as boards and a brochure summarizing the three elements of the final plan: People, Housing and Neighborhood. Residents and visitors also learned about Early Action Activities and the upcoming art murals at the three key housing sites.

CiQlovia was an opportunity to engage with residents from both the planning area and the city, while also fostering new connections with initiatives that have the potential to align with the proposed efforts in the Final Plan, including projects focused on community health, recreation, wellness, use of open spaces, as well as streetscape improvements that improve pedestrian and bicycle safety.

Visitors had the opportunity to share their thoughts on each element through cards with prompts where they expressed their aspirations for the neighborhood, and projects that excited them the most. It was a Sunday filled with enthusiasm and valuable conversations about the International District community's promising future.
